Another update to the Funko/Mondo drama.
Mondo released a statement this afternoon pushing back on last week’s news that parent company Funko had laid off a lot of its staff and ended the poster and records divisions. The statement, seen below via Tweet, is from Funko CEO Brian Mariotti and claims that its trying to clear up “a lot of misinformation” about what’s going on within the company.
Mariotti claims that Mondo only reduced about 10% of the workforce across Funko, the majority of the company-wide layoffs weren’t in Mondo. He also said that “the Mondo poster business will continue, period” and that Funko “will be investing heavily in the production of vinyl records in the near future.”
