Yesterday, Warner Bros announced the rebranding of HBO Max into its new streaming service, Max, and shared information about new and current properties in development. One of those was a Game Of Thrones prequel called A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, which is based on the George R.R. Martin “Dunk and Egg” prequel novellas with the same name (1998’s The Hedge Knight, 2003’s The Sworn Sword, and 2010’s The Mystery Knight)
The Hedge Knight takes place one-hundred years before the events in Game of Thrones (during Targaryen rule) and centers on a Sir Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg on Dunk’s complicated quest to knighthood in the Seven Kingdoms.
The series will be written and executive produced by Martin and Ira Parker (House of the Dragon).
