This news isn’t surprising at all, but it is a bummer none-the-less. Deadline is reporting that due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel has been pushed back to Easter weekend 2024, so sometime around March 29, 2024. Although the film has finished principle shooting, it still needs actors for post-production stuff.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 was original supposed to open on December 20, 2023.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse, the sequel to Across the Spider-Verse, was originally scheduled for Easter Weekend 2024 and is now listed as TBD. This is reportedly due to the number of voiceovers still needed that won’t be done in time thanks to the strike.
The Karate Kid reboot, originally scheduled for a June 7, 2024 release has also been pushed back. It’s new release date is December 13, 2024.
