Hasbro has announced that they are launching a new division called Hasbro Entertainment. The new division will unify Hasbro’s film, TV, animation, and digital media businesses. Hasbro Entertainment is a part of the company’s Blueprint 2.0 strategy, which sets forth to increase investment in Hasbro’s priority brands.
Olivier Dumont will serve as President, Zev Foreman as Head of Film, and Gabriel Marano as Head of Television. All three men join Hasbro Entertainment from eOne, which Hasbro sold to Lionsgate earlier this month.
Tim Kilpin, President of Toy, Licensing and Entertainment for Hasbro, said in a statement, “Entertainment is core to Hasbro’s strategy and its mission to entertain and connect generations of fans through the wonder of storytelling and exhilaration of play.”
Hasbro Entertainment is currently actively developing and producing over 30 projects, including Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, Magic: The Gathering, Nerf, and more.
“We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter, building upon our rich heritage of storytelling to continue delighting audiences across generations,” Dumont said said in a press release. “Gabe, Zev, and I look forward to working with the industry’s best creative talent, studios, and distribution platforms to push the envelope with innovative storytelling that will let fans engage with their favorite brands like never before, while also building exciting new worlds and the next wave of Hasbro franchises for a growing audience.”
Dumont most recently served as president of family brands at eOne, where he was responsible for overseeing content creation and distribution for Hasbro and eOne’s family brands. Foreman and Marano were primarily focused on Hasbro IP projects while at eOne and will continue this work in their newly expanded roles directly for Hasbro. At eOne, Foreman was president of film production, overseeing movies such as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Marano served as co-head of scripted development, working on the development of Paramount+’s upcoming Dungeons & Dragons series and Netflix’s Power Rangers series.
