Disney has announced that it’s 2-day immersive Star Wars experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be closing on Sept. 30, with it’s final voyage beginning on Sept. 28. Galactic Starcruiser opened in March 2022 and costs a whopping $6,000 for the two-day vacation.
In a statement, Disney said:
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”
A Disney spokesperson said that anyone who booked a voyage on or after Sept. 30 will be contacted about rescheduling. New bookings are temporarily paused to give those with post-Sept. 28 reservations the opportunity to rebook and will reopen on May 26.
Disney also announced today that it will cancel plans for its $1 billion, 2,000 employee Lake Nona campus plans in Florida, which was supposed to host employees from Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division. That plan was controversial when it was announced because the company asked Southern California employees to relocate and some employees quit over it.
