Here’s Mattel’s MOTU Fall 2023 Catalog Masterverse Line:

Deluxe Whiplash

What an incredible entry into the “New Eternia” line. This Deluxe Whiplash gives you his classic look along with updated armor based off of his original concept art. I saw this figure in person at Spielwarenmesse and it blew me away. It looks great in pictures, but this big lizard impresses even more in person.

Buzz-Off

Another update to the classic design. This Buzz-Off gives us improved wing and helmet design, along with articulated baby claws which has never been done (besides the next figure we’re going to talk about, of course). The OG Buzz-Off is kinda goofy, but this one takes those goofy elements and makes them cool.

Clawful

This Clawful is a stunner. It’s clearly a “New Eternia” entry giving us multiple looks from different versions of Clawful. Clawful is another of those original MOTU designs that can be silly, but this Clawful is big and menacing. His big articulated claw looks great, as does his armor.

Prince Adam

Based on his look from the MOTU Revelation series, this Prince Adam actually looks like the young prince instead of a ‘roided He-Man figure dressed in Prince Adams clothes. I LOVE his sparkly power sword creating the transition effect as he turns into He-Man.

New Adventures Skeletor

I LOVE how they approached this NA Skeletor. It looks like it jumped right off the original card art for the figure. Unlike the Classics version that ended up too bulky this one’s more slender profile looks perfect.

Classic Mer-Man

This is the more classic Mer-Man look from the Revelation series. That said, it still carried over a more animation-style look versus the more detailed look that the “New Eternia” figures have. Still, it looks really good, and until they make a “New Eternia” version, it will fill in your display nicely

Faker

I saw this figure at Spielwarenmesse and I remember it having a more Revelation-style head sculpt on it. I think this version’s more classic style head sculpt is better, even if I think the hair piece is slightly askew. I LOVE that this one features his pink armor and sword, giving you more display options if you have the previous Faker that came with his more traditional orange armor.

Clamp Champ

I loved Clamp Champ’s classic look in the Revelation series, and this figure gives us that. It definitely carries over that animation style, but it also could fill in as a classic Clamp Champ in your collection regardless of his animated connection.

Webstor

I LOVE this figure. Those enlarged spider eyes with that pearlescent paint! The head sculpt is fantastic. The texture on his armor looks incredible. I love how they incorporated his grappling hook feature into his orange gun. Through and through, this New Eternia Webstor is a home run.

Deluxe Ram-Man

I also saw this Deluxe New Eternia figure at Spielwarenmesse and he slightly underwhelmed in person. The top half of the figure sans his additional armor seems small, especially when compared to the Classics version. Ram-Man’s size has varied through different media, so it’s hard to strike that balance, but overall it looks like a great figure (love that his legs have a rubber overlay to hide his knee joints). Overall, however, I think the Classics version beats this one out.

Deluxe Slush Head

The Deluxe Slush Head is an absolute showstopper, which is saying something because I’ve never been that high on the previous figures or characters before. But everything they’ve added to this figure is so cool. A highlight is its ability to go modular, with his tentacles creating a floating head with an android body.

Grizzlor

I think this interpretation of Grizzlor will divide fans. On one hand, it’s a new look and approach to the fan favorite character that on its own looks really cool. But, if you’ve grown accustomed to his overgrowth of body hair, this one will fall short for you. Still I’m glad we’re getting a Grizzlor, even if he’s a lot less hairy.

Horde Skeletor

When I first saw this figure at Spielwarenmesse, I thought he was a Masterverse Laser Light Skeletor with his red highlights and the translucent red skull on top of his havoc staff. But this is actually his Horde look from the upcoming MOTU Revolution series hitting Netflix. I realllllllly like this look, and the improved headsculpt looks absolutely fantastic!
