Here’s Mattel’s MOTU 2023 Fall Catalog Origins Line:

Talon Fighter & Point Dread

I saw this amazing set in person at Spielwarenmesse and I’m so happy people get to see what I saw there. True to the vintage set, yet upgraded in every way. The cardboard computer console is now plastic with decals. There’s a swappable radar dish and laser cannon that can attach to the top of the Talon Fighter and/or Point Dread. A plastic window and controls add on to the classic talon fighter design. I can’t wait to add this one to the collection.

Snake Armor (Serpent Claw) Man at Arms

Directly inspired by the 200X version of this toy, the colors and accessories pull directly from the 2003 release, albeit using paint and plastic color to pull that off, without much new tooling.

Eternian Guard Infiltrator

Inspired by the Classics Eternian Palace Guard 2 Pack, this adds a “snakeman” guard to either be a infiltrator or a good snakeperson in your Eternian guard ranks.

Ssqueeze

Ssqueeze is a classic and hard to find vintage MOTU figure. This Ssqueeze brings all of the charm of the original figure with some upgrades. The original arms were one long piece which made independent arm posing difficult. This new Ssqueeze has two separate arms to allow greater posing.

Spikor

Another faithfully recreated classic. Spikor fills another original evil warriors slot. While it looks just like the original figure, it does drop the action feature on his trident. Unlike others I don’t mind the change as it allows for more display-ability.

Snake Face

A pricey vintage figure is brought to life in Origins form. It also drops the action feature of the original, instead giving us two heads to achieve the Medusa “snakes coming out of his face” look. The improved articulation vs. the feature leave this remake for the better.

Dragon Blaster Skeletor

A fan-favorite vintage figure is finally brought into the Origins line. Unlike the Ricky The Dragon Steamboat MOTUWWE Figure, this figure faithfully recreates the vintage version. It even includes the metal chains and dragon that squirts water.

Mini Comic Man-E-Faces

One of the best looking “mini-comic” releases so far in the Origins line. Mini Comic Man-E-Faces looks fantastic. All of the faceplates look great, as well as his more subtle paint scheme. This one will replace the original Man-E-Faces in my display.

Snake Men Bundle

First shown as customs in the San Diego Comic-Con Eternia display, these generic Snake Men – along with a re-deco’ed Snake Armor He-Man – look fantastic. I LOVE the blue cobra snake with the camo-khan head. Really, this whole set is a must buy.

Flocked Moss Man

We’ve known this figure was coming for a while, but it doesn’t change the fact that the final production version looks AMAZING. Maybe it’s because we only find vintage Moss men looking rough with 40 years of dust, lint and fabric stuck to them. This new flocking looks great, and I love that they didn’t hold back near the joints.

Skeletor and Screech 2-Pack

While we have known about this set for a while, this is the first time we are seeing it, and I love how they changed up Skeletor for this set. His new paint scheme, along with an articulated jaw, really ups the value of this set. The new Zoar was great and I assume the same will be true for the Screech. What could have been a bit of a boring set has turned into a potential sleeper hit.

Rulers of the Sun 3-Pack

This set makes whole the full original lineup of the Olmec Toys Rulers of the Sun, and these last 3 figures make for quite the finale. Lenticular stickers and tons of newly sculpted accessories shine in this 3-pack.

Skeleton Warrior 2-Pack

The Skeleton Warrior prototype was first seen in the San Diego Comic Con Eternia display (and in art form on the Grayskull box art). We finally get to look at the production version of the Skeleton Warriors and they look great! They have two different sets of armor and 5 accessories. This set allows you to build a fairly sizable skeleton army that won’t look repetitive. Oh and did I mention… THEY GLOW IN THE DARK! If they use the same GITD they used on the Scareglow figure, then we’re in for a real treat.

Young King Randor

Wave 13 has already hit some retailers and now we got our first official images of the toys. Young King Randor looks fantastic, no king of burgers here. He’s got a 200x vibe and he looks great.

Snake Teela

I love the updated sculpting on this Snake Teela figure. She’s not a simple repaint. New boots and torso give her a 200x vibe, and the way they snake-ified her really pops!

Snake Trooper

A horde trooper with a repainted Rattlor head, this figure is simple in what it offers but it still is a fun release that diversifies your MOTU shelf.

Slamurai

I LOVE thegood guy” ninja that is a straight “repaint” of Ninjor but in a really striking white and blue color scheme. A never-released figure in the vintage line, it’s exciting to finally get him in the 5.5-inch form.
